Use of Cookies
The CRDHA website uses "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize CRDHA pages, or register with CRDHA site or services, a cookie helps CRDHA to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. When you return to the same CRDHA website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the CRDHA features that you customized.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the CRDHA services or websites you visit.

CRDHA secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. CRDHA secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

Social Media
The CRDHA uses social media to reach online audiences and participate in conversations related to Albertans receiving safe, high quality dental hygiene care from a continually advancing dental hygiene profession.

The CRDHA currently uses Facebook. Our Facebook account is managed by CRDHA communications staff on weekdays during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.). We may monitor or respond from time to time outside of regular office hours.

We post content we think is relevant to our mandate for public safety and of interest to our followers, including information about our office, issues related to dental hygiene practice, information about upcoming events, and links to resources and publications issued by our office and others.

When we provide links to external sites, they are provided solely for the convenience and interest of the user. The CRDHA is not responsible for the accuracy of the information contained on these sites, nor does it endorse the sites or their content.

Those who choose to engage in a conversation with the CRDHA via social media should be aware that they do so within the public domain. To protect your privacy and that of others, the CRDHA recommends that you not include personal information or identifying health information in your posts.

Facebook accounts are hosted by a third party service provider and are not on CRDHA servers. You should read Facebook’s terms and privacy policy before engaging in its use.
