The Past

Dental hygienists have practiced in Alberta since 1963. The College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Alberta (CRDHA) has evolved from a member organization, the Alberta Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA), formed in 1963 to its current status as a regulatory body.

The commitment of individuals who advocated for the dental hygiene profession has been instrumental in dental hygienists now being able to practice to the full extent of their competencies in a variety of practice settings.
